Tour Jomonsugi Cedar Over 2 Nights and 3 Days

Introducing a model plan to efficiently enjoy Yakushima over 2 nights and 3 days with Jomonsugi Cedar
as the main tourist attraction. The course is somewhat challenging,
but it's a fantastical and dynamic giant tree that you'll want to visit at least once.
Please refer to the model plan for an impressive experience.

First day

Pick up your rental car. It's smoother if you reserve in advance.

Check in aiming for the evening time.
Enjoy the spectacular views of Yakushima from the terrace and have a relaxing time.
Prepare for tomorrow's Jomonsugi Cedar trekking by going to bed early after dinner.

The 2nd day

The Arakawa Trail Entrance for Jomonsugi Cedar course is closed to private cars all day from March to November and can only be accessed by mountain bus or taxi. The first mountain bus departure time can be crowded, so leave the hotel early.
Traveling with a guide who provides round-trip transfers from the hotel can deepen your understanding of Yakushima.

Start trekking towards Jomonsugi Cedar, the symbol of Yakushima.
5:30 Depart from Arakawa Trailhead,
10:00 Arrive at Jomonsugi Cedar,
15:50 Return to Arakawa Trailhead,

Yakushima Onsen

Set out early in the morning on a long trail to reach the long-awaited Jomonsugi Cedar. While still immersed in the lingering emotion, return to the hotel. The hotel's "Yakushima Onsen" is a natural hot spring flowing directly from the source. Please relax in the hot spring where you can soak for a long time at a comfortable temperature without strain.

Third day

Waterfall

A famous falls flowing over a giant granite monolith. It is a scenic spot where you can glimpse the original form of Yakushima, shaped by the uplift of granite.

Have a light meal at cafes and bakeries around Anbo.

16:00 Anbo River

Head for a water stroll enveloped in the murmuring sounds of the clear stream flowing from the deep mountains and surrounded by laurel forests.

Return the rental car and complete the boarding procedures for your departure flight.
